![]() ![]() It gave me the same reading Dot Tune did but I found it easier to get consistency using FoCal which was my fault. I read a blog at FoCal where the developer said they really worked on accuracy with V2. I have to say it is very accurate and consistent. I had to get Pro to go over 400mm and am using V2. I read mixed reviews about accuracy but did purchase it about 1 ½ years ago. I guess Canon wants to discourage customers using FoCal. Canon won't give out the codec I believe for those, the 5D3 and I imagine newer releases. I wish Canon would allow that on newer bodies. The only thing that is a PITA is that the 1DX and the 7D2 are not able to change the adjustment level in software so I have to change it manually 3-4 times for each lens. I consider it one time and worthy investment. ![]() Don't quote me on it, but I thing they used to be able to control it. I guess Nikon didn't want to give them access to their algorithms. I think that on Nikon bodies you have to change it manually. I've been using FoCal Pro for almost a year now and find it to be the most reliable way that I have found to setup my lenses. Then send in a mother lens or two for cleaning then start the process on my 7D and make a jurnal entry on the various settings then go thru the lens again on the 7DMk ll iirc the 40 D doesn't have they micro adjust option. I'm also a cps member and my 70-200 is loose feeling like its flexing as you use it so I need to send it back in for clean ing and hope it comes back tight. I have it purchase last year prior to my surgery even bought two of the targets plus the software but I've not sat down and used it yet. But if your looking for something reliable and easy, give FoCal a try. Version 2 seems to have fixed the crashing problems. I always found it accurate on multiple Canon cameras, but it frequently crashed. The recently released version 2 is much more robust. I think the key is to stop the first time the focus point starts to flicker ~ Ron Ive been using FoCal Pro for several years. Do one body and one lens to see how it works for you. Maybe it would work better with my newer cameras. I tried it on a Nikon D300 and the green dot kept flickering to the point when I wasn't sure exactly what was the best focus point. You are not relying on your eyes to tell you when it's oof. From what I hear, the new Nikon D500 and D5 have auto fine tuning built in where the camera does all the work for you. I am hoping that software like this will eliminate that problem for me. Very solid support It is worth the aggravation to set up. ![]() Now it is good AND reliable and consistent. Apparently, Dot Tune is more reliable with Nikon equipment. Dot Tune has not been reliable and consistent for Canon lenses. Ron Where I find the Dot Tune type systems challenging is that my old eyes find it difficult to determine where it just goes out of focus. Then you set the focus midway between those two points. Basically you just find the point where the lens just goes out of focus both + an. It was developed by fellow FMer snapsy for Cann bodies, but I don't know why it wouldn't work on the Dark Side too. Here's a link to the video about Dot Tune. Tune your camera autofocus at the touch of a button. You'll be able to watch as FoCal controls the camera to captures and analyse shots then locks in on the perfect setting. ![]() It's crazy loud and makes noises constantly. One last thing to mention is I hate that you can't turn down the volume of the controller speaker in game. However it also lost some of its charm with level design, the levels are less memorable and aren't as creative in terms of design. SE3 is designed to be a superior game with non-linear levels, improved controls, and more focus on the Xray bullet cam (which can start to get annoying after every kill, but you can press a button to skip them which wasn't possible on SEv2). In SE3 yu can sprint with 元 and aim the cope with L2. The default scheme in SE2 was unpleasant and there was only one other control layout choice available, which allowd you to aim the scope with L2, but meant you lost sprint on 元. Another thing to mention is the control scheme is better in SE3. The silence handgun is still there from SEV2, but I prefer the takedowns for when yoou manage to get right up to an enemy without them seeing. ![]() SE3 also adds takedowns, so you can takedown an enemy by sneaking up behind them, which is a very welcome addition. Although this also makes the game far easier as you can essentially save after every kill meaning there's no risk for any action you take. SE3 allows you t save whenever you want, in addition to the checkpoints, which seem more frequent anyway. SE3 also fixes the issue I had with SEV2 with manual saves, allow you to no longer suffer trying to redo a 3 wave gunfight where you'd get to the very last sniper and die because you couldn't flank tham or position yourself properly, and then needing to restart the entire gunfight. There's not really anything like that in SE3 it's just a mechanic in the levels you can choose to find and use for some kills but not all. However I feel the sound masking was developed more with SE2 as it had levels with events such as fireworks or the bell of the church which really continued through and was a key feature of those levels. ![]() This dramatically improves the stealth element of the gme as you are no lngr forced into situations where you can't sneak around or flank enemies, plus it means you can psition yourself nearer atmospheric noises to mask your sots. The main differences between Sniper Elite v2 and 3 is that th levels are now more open and less linear. There's the ability too play somewhat stealthily in these games, but there's also gunfights and assassination missions. The game format is essentially, 3rd person to move around levels and position yourself for shots, then a first person scope view for gunfights. I sorely missed these types of games, so this fills a void. The games bring me back to days of Spec Ops on the original playstation, running around alone with limited ammo and mostly relying on a sniper rifle, being stealthy and knowing when go on the offensive. That being said, the Sniper Elite series is very fun if you like stealth sniper style games. It's actually a prequel rather than sequel, but the story is weaker than SEV2 and this time around the levels are fairly void of anything memorable unlike some very standout levels in SEV2. Sniper Elite 3 is definitely a "more of the same" game. It seemed like a Call Of Duty ripoff but was actually a pretty fun and challenging sniper game with decent mechanics and good level design. It seemed like a Call Of Duty ripoff but was actually a pretty fun and challenging sniper game with decent Sniper Elite V2, was a dark horse. I'd rate this with an 8 out of 10 … Expand If you like stealth-based action titles like Metal Gear Solid V or Splinter Cell: Blacklist, then you'll like this. The game has a decent story, but the gameplay is the reason you want to play this. in addition to the campaign, there are three other co-op modes as well as competitive multiplayer. As you progress in the story, you'll find weapon parts which you can use to customize each sniper rifle with. Single player mode is fun, but you can also play cooperatively online with a partner. Each mission can be completed in many ways and there are plenty of collectibles and secondary objectives. Level and game design are an improvement over Sniper Elite V2. If you've played the Xbox 360 version, the difference is very noticeable. It includes all DLC and run at 60 FPS with 1080p resolution. If you've played the Xbox 360 This is the definitive version of Sniper Elite III. ![]() This is the definitive version of Sniper Elite III. ![]() ![]() This anime makes good use of music, the variety helps the atmosphere of the various scenes. This includes serious orchestral music, more comical music for the funny scenes. ![]() If you don't like rock, don't worry since Kuroko no Basuke makes use of a variety of music in the anime itself. I know this has been done before which a lot of Japanese anime voice actors, but this is the first one where it stands out to be fantastic, more than just a little gimmick. Who'd have thought this voice actor would be so talented at rock vocals. But one thing, Kuroko's voice actor Kensho Ono also did an album (Fantastic Tune) for the second outro. I had the intro/outro albums long before I started watching this season and as I started writing this section of this review I went and got the full soundtrack of this anime. Otherwise, this anime looks so good.SoundThe awesome music continues in season 2 as the likes of my favourite Japanese bands GRANRODEO and OLDCODEX return with kickass rock tunes for the ridiculously cool intro and outro sequences. The more I watched this anime, the more I lowered the animation score for the unjustified ecchi. ![]() Who let hormonal teenagers on the season 2 animation team? At least this kept to a minimum throughout most of the anime, but I must take note of this demotion from the first season. There is then the character of Alexandra Garcia who also has a body like Momoi's and is unfortunately often nude. As a sequel to great anime, I've been so let down by this lapse in maturity. They even point out Riko's normal chest to be small. Episode 2 shows the return of Momoi and I'm sad to say that it had more pointless pervy bullshit in that one episode than the entirety of season 1 (cos season 1 was clean). Well there was in season one at least, they've gone wrong here. It shows off the action and fast-pace of the matches well too.īeing a cast of mainly male characters, there is reduced fan-service. Sort of like snapshots and it made those sequences even better when combined with the sweet music. Might I also add the animation of the intro and outro sequences, the style there is unique and relevant. I may rant on the realism if I ever review season one. Of course, being a fast paced basketball anime, it also manages to depict the action and speed beautifully. Behind the surface, the style really is unique, even if a handful of characters like Momoi, Kise and Riko seem familiar. Especially Kuroko, some of these character designs I have honestly rarely seen before. But further scrutinisation and you realise that somehow, despite overall appearances of the standard style, they still manage to have unique characters. There are little things that might annoy people, like Kagami's eyebrows. Of course the style continues from season 1 and at first glance it seems to be somewhat generic. But what matters is style and I won't go easy on this. Of course in this day and age quality shouldn't be a problem, I watched this in glorious 1080p. If I ever get around to rewriting it, I'll put a link in this review.ĪnimationAnimation quality remains top-notch for season 2. I did write a review for season one last year, but a misclick caused me to lose it all and I was too upset to write it up again. ![]() If you haven't watched season one, then I recommend doing so before reading this review as it may otherwise contain spoilers for the events of the first season. If you enjoyed season one, put on your seatbelts for a continuation of the adrenaline-filled rollercoaster that is this anime. The first season was an anime so enjoyable, that cycnics of the sports genre, people who didn't watch anime and anime lovers alike all enjoyed it. Unfortunately my expectations for this are sky high which didn't bode well since this season added something I dislike to great anime series. ![]() It has everything a good anime needs, action, comedy, seriousness. Kuroko no Basuke 2 is the 26 episode continuation of the critically acclaimed sports anime from 2012. ![]() |
